Need help selling your items?

Not every situation requires a full estate liquidation.

Whether you have a few items—such as furniture, collectibles, equipment or household pieces—or the contents of an entire home, Birdies can handle the selling process.

We can sell select items without clearing the whole home or moving everything out right away. We can prepare and open the home for an in-person estate sale, or remove the items and sell them off-site.

We tailor the selling plan to what you have, your timeline and what needs to happen with the home

How our service works

  1. Review what you need sold
We can assess a few selected items, a collection or the contents of an entire home.

  2. Create the right selling plan
We recommend the best approach based on the items, their value, your timeline and what needs to happen with the home.

  3. Prepare and market the items
Depending on the plan, we may photograph and list items individually, group them together, prepare the home for an in-person estate sale or move items off-site to be sold.

  4. Manage the buyers and the sale
Birdies handles inquiries, offers, payments and pickup arrangements so you can focus on taking care of the important matters that only you can do.

  5. Return the proceeds to you
Once commissions and any agreed expenses are deducted, the remaining proceeds are returned to you with a clear record of the sales.

Whether you have one valuable item or an entire house to sell, we build the service around what you need.

What We Sell Online

Our online sales service focuses on items with a resale value of $200 or more, where proper pricing and buyer access make a meaningful difference.

That said, lower-value items are not automatically excluded. When it makes sense, related pieces can be grouped and sold together as a single lot to improve efficiency and results. Larger and heavier items such as furniture may also be sold for less where it makes sense.

Items commonly handled include (but are not limited to):

  • Furniture and décor

  • Art and collectibles

  • Vintage and specialty household items

  • Tools, equipment, and recreational gear

  • Sporting items, electronics, and vehicles such as snowmobiles

  • Vintage cars and car parts

Each situation is reviewed individually to determine the most practical and profitable approach based on demand, condition, and market interest.

How Items are Sold

The most suitable selling method depends on item volume, potential value, available space and the required timeline.

Option 1: In-Home Selling

  • Best for larger items or household contents that can remain onsite

  • Items remain in the home while being marketed or prepared for sale

  • Birdies manages individual listings or operates an in-home estate sale

  • Client receives 70% of the final sale price

  • Processing, inventory and sale labour are billed separately

Option 2: Consignment

  • Best for accepted items requiring storage and off-site pickup

  • Items are collected and stored by Birdies until they are sold

  • Birdies manages pricing, photography, listings and buyer inquiries

  • Client receives 70% of the final sale price

  • Processing, transportation and storage are billed separately

Option 3: Auction

  • Best for a high volume of items requiring a shorter sales timeline

  • Items are sorted and transported to an appropriate auction house

  • Birdies coordinates the auction while the auction house manages the sale

  • Client receives 90% of net proceeds after auction-house fees

  • Processing and transportation labour are billed separately

Commissions and anticipated costs are explained before work begins. Different arrangements may apply to particularly high-value items.
