What Hoarding Support Looks Like

Birdies works with the person making the decisions—whether that is the homeowner, a family member, an executor or another authorized professional—to understand what needs to be accomplished.

Depending on the needs, budget and timeline, the work may involve a straightforward whole-home clearout or a more detailed sorting and removal process.

Detailed sorting allows more time to identify important documents, photographs, personal belongings and items of potential value. Where practical, value can be recovered through individual sales, an estate sale or auction. Because this approach requires more time and labour, it costs more than a straightforward clearout.

When speed and affordability are the priorities, Birdies can focus on removing the contents efficiently while separating clearly usable items for donation where practical.

Birdies explains the available options before work begins so the client can decide where their time and budget are best spent. Once the plan is established, we can manage sorting, sales, donations, hauling, disposal and cleaning through to completion.

Throughout the process, the property, its contents and the people involved are treated with privacy and respect.
